AVA – Etta Marie Kilpatrick, 83, of Ava, passed away at 2:10 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab in Pinckneyville, Illinois.
Etta was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on October 2, 1934, the daughter of Daniel C., Sr. and Lula Charlotte Campbell Green. She married Bob Kilpatrick on July 2, 1955 in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was a member of Ava Missionary Baptist Church in Ava and Smiling Sue – Country Cousins at WAVA Radio Station. Etta graduated from Trico in 1954, she then worked at Kuhlman's IGA, and Ava Food and Family. She babysat for friends and family and was a pianist at Ava Missionary Baptist Church.
Etta is survived by her husband Bob Kilpatrick of Ava; Sons, Randy Kilpatrick of Ava, Lester Kilpatrick of Ava, Roger Kilpatrick of Murphysboro, Karl Kilpatrick of Ava, and Everett Kilpatrick of Ava; Daughters, Brenda Lage of Ava, and Beth Berry of Murphysboro; Son-in-law, Ed Childers of Oraville; fourteen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters Sarah Wydeck of Campbell Hill, Peggy Hediger of Wentzville MO, and Sharon McDonald of Evansville IN; and one brother, Daniel C. Green, Jr. of Ava.
Etta was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Childers; and two sons-in-law, Greg Berry, and David Lage.
Funeral Services will be held 11am, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Bill Stoklosa officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava where friends may call from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be given to the family to help offset funeral expenses.Visits: 0
