CHESTER - Ethel Troue, 92, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:45 pm, Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Independence Care Center in Perryville, MO. Ethel was born on July 25, 1922 at Percy, Illinois to Elmer and Martha Inselmann Meyerhoff. She was baptized at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville by Pastor Duenow on August 6, 1922. She later became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Chester. She attended St. Mark's Lutheran School and was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on April 5, 1936 by Pastor Jacob Mueller. She worked at Lowenbaum Garment Factory in Sparta and was retired from Gilster Mary- Lee in Chester. Ethel married Herbert Troue on January 20, 1945 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church by Pastor Mueller. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1988. Ethel is survived by two sons, Leslie (Eldean) Troue of Steeleville and Larry (JoAnn) Troue of Murphysboro, IL; four grandchildren, Mark Troue of Percy, Amy Herring and Douglas Troue of Murphysboro and Tiffany Denyer of Maryville, TN; 12 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Rodewald. Memorial service will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville at 11:00 am, on Monday, April 6, 2015 with Rev. Kelly C. Bedard officiating. Private interment will follow later at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Memorials may be given to St. John's Radio Fund or the St. John's Lutheran Church Debt Fund.
