PERCY, Esther I. Knop, 94, of Percy, passed away at 9:45 A.M. Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, IL. She was born August 04, 1916 in Willisville, Illinois the daughter of Henry Schnepel and Louise (Kueker) Schnepel. Esther married Paul G. Knop on October 20, 1935 in Campbell Hill, IL. Paul passed away on March 27, 2000. She is survived by her daughter: Doris and Harry Rahlfs of Steeleville, IL; three sons: Delmar Knop of Steeleville, IL, Jim and Marilyn Knop of Percy, IL, and Paul and Nancy Knop of Sparta, IL; ten grandchildren: Heather and Tyson Moonier, Ryan Knop, Drew Knop, Mike and Sandy Rahlfs, Craig and Melanie Rahlfs, Karen and Brent Wood, Chris and Glen Haake, Cindy and Doug Metcalf, Scott and Jan Knop, Greg and Stacie Richardson; 13 great grandchildren. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Knop was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, and the B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary Post#480, Steeleville and the Steeleville Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Rev. S. Blake Duncan will be officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and then on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9am and then form 10 to 11am at the church. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church for the sound system.
