STEELEVILLE - Elsie E. Bierman, 71, of Steeleville, passed away at 7:35 P.M. Thursday, October 30, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, IL. Elsie was born September 19, 1937 in Tilden, Illinois the daughter of Wilber Owens and Rose (Chunn) Owens. She married Glen E. Bierman on June 18, 1954 in Sparta, IL. Elsie was a homemaker and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steeleville. She is survived by her husband Glen E. Bierman of Steeleville; daughter, Elizabeth (Roger) Abell of Percy, IL; two grandchildren, Michelle (Russell) Tripp of Steeleville and Nathaniel Abell of Percy, IL; one great grandson, Logan Tripp of Steeleville; and one sister, Gladys Cavalier of Sparta, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Glen Bierman and one brother, Raymond Owens. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Greg Sutter officiating. Burial will follow at Percy Village Cemetery in Percy. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm. Memorials may be made to Steeleville Baptist Church or to the Kidney Foundation.
