STEELEVILLE, Elmer A. Ebers, 88, of Steeleville, passed away at 11:05 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, IL. Elmer was born August 01, 1922 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the son of Albert W. Ebers and Esther (Rieckenberg) Ebers. Elmer married Irma L. Luehr on October 28, 1949 in Perryville, MO. He was a veteran of the US Air Corp during World War II. Elmer was a retired carpenter and he was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville and the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville. Elmer is survived by his wife Irma L. Ebers of Steeleville, IL; one son, Steven J. Ebers of Steeleville; two grandchildren, Alexandra & Sabrina Ebers; and one sister, Emma Rathjen of Overland, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville and on Friday at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville from 7:30 am until 9 am and on Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville from 10 to 11 am. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.
