AVA – Ellen K. Davis, 75, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at The Grove Nursing Home,  Berwyn, IL.

Ellen was born on September 23, 1947, in Chelsea, MA, the daughter of Harry E. and Theresa Florence (Kelly) Hames. She married James R. Davis on November 17, 1990, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Desoto, IL. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2019. Ellen was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. She was a retired elementary school teacher. Ellen was a member of St Luke Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, IL, Navy Club Auxiliary, and Women's Army Corp Association. She was also a life-time member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, and American Veterans.

Ellen is survived by her son: Paul Leland Cook, her stepdaughters: Patricia Ann Davis, Paula Marie Flowers; her grandchildren: James Michael Flowers, Zoey Flowers, Brixton Todor Cook, and Delilah Faye Cook.

Ellen was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harry E. Hames, George A. Hames, and one sister, Evelyn M. Hames.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, IL, with Minister Deb Rathert officiating. Memorials may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Ava, IL, 62907.
