STEELEVILLE, Ella Mae Gerlach, 90, of Steeleville, passed away at 12:35 AM Monday, September 1, 2014, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, Illinois. She was born October 22, 1923 in Steeleville, Illinois the daughter of Henry C. and Mathilda (Salger) Goetting. She married August F. "Gus" Gerlach on June 2, 1946 in Peoria, IL. He passed away October 6, 1998. Ella Mae was a bookkeeper for G. W. Zacheis, Inc. in Steeleville, Illinois. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL. She is survived by her son: Stan A. (Brenda) Gerlach, Steeleville, IL; Granddaughter: Brandy (John) Junge, Charleston, South Carolina and a Great Granddaughter, Evelyn Jewell Junge. Ella is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church Steeleville, Illinois with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, on Thursday where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 7:30 to 9:00 am and then from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.
