SPARTA, Eleonore M. McCormick, 79, of Sparta, passed away at 5:20 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. She was born January 6, 1937 in Schweinfurt, Germany, the daughter of Adolph and Martha (Wegner) Blenk. Eleonore married William F. McCormick, he passed away in May of 1988.

Eleonore was a retired Home Health Caregiver. She was a member of the Loyalty Missionary Baptist Church, Eden, IL.

She is survived by her children: Robert and Carol McCormick of Virginia; John and Gayle McCormick, Sparta, IL; Nancy and John Mulholland, Chester, IL; William and Mary McCormick of Indiana; 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Eleonore is preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 sister, Ursla Deutch.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Loyalty Missionary Baptist Church in Eden IL with. Rev. Tom Foster officiating. Private burial will be at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Family will receive friends after 10:30am on Saturday to share remembrances. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Loyalty Missionary Baptist Church 11940 State Route 154, Sparta, IL.
