STEELEVILLE, Eleanor M. Meyer, 88, of Chester, formerly of Steeleville, passed away at 7:15 P.M. Wednesday, March 02, 2011, at St. Ann's Healthcare Center in Chester, IL. Eleanor was born August 20, 1922 in Okawville, Illinois the daughter of Rev. Jacob Mueller and Amanda (Brueggemann) Mueller. Eleanor married Ralph E. Meyer on September 1, 1946 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2008. Eleanor graduated from Steeleville High School in 1940. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, where she was confirmed in 1935. She was also a member of the B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary Post #480, Steeleville. Eleanor is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Allan Nagel of Steeleville; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Baumgartner of Philadelphia, PA and Christina (Scott) Presson of Baltimore, MA; four great grandchildren, April and Savannah Presson and Benjamin and William Baumgartner; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Eleanor was also preceded in death by her Parents; two infant sisters, Alma and Lillian Mueller; one sister, Lucille Boehne; and two brothers, Harold Mueller and Hugo Mueller. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 am.
