SPARTA, Eldean C. Svanda, 89, of Sparta, passed away at 10:55 PM Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois. She was born October 22, 1926 in Jacob, Illinois the daughter of Arthur and Meta Miesner Fritsche. Eldean married Otto Svanda on Saturday, February 7, 1948 in Jacob, Illinois. Otto passed away on September 24, 2015.

Eldean was a Homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta, IL.

She is survived by her: daughter and son-in-law Nancy & Paul Knop of Sparta, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Heather & Tyson Moonier, Ryan Knop and Drew & Amy Knop; 3 Great Grandchilden: Shay & Lana Moonier and Ava Knop; 3 brothers: Russell Fritsche of Austin, TX, Harold & Marilyn Fritsche, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Robert & Gail Fritsche of Stillwater, OK and 2 sisters: Loretta Fritsche of Austin, TX and Anna M. Fritsche of Phoenix, AZ.

Eldean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Randy and 1 brother, Melvin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta, IL with Rev. Cory Mirth officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Visitation will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Sparta, on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9 to 10AM at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Randolph County Care Center Auxiliary or VITAS Hospice.
