Obituary
PERCY – Elda D. Fastenau, 94, of Percy passed away at 1:15 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Randolph County Care Center in Sparta.
Elda was born on August 15, 1922, in Degognia Township in Jackson County, Illinois the daughter of August and Dorothea (Brueggemann) Dierks. She married Arthur Fastenau, on January 1, 1942 in Perryville, Missouri and they shared 55 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 17, 1997. Elda was a homemaker and a member of the St. Marks Lutheran Church in Steeleville.
Elda is survived by her 2 children; Delbert (Janet) Fastenau, of Percy, and Doris Fastenau, of Percy. She is also survived by her sister; Esther Wilson, of Chester, and several nieces, and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the St. Marks Lutheran Church, in Steeleville, with Rev. Kelly C. Bedard officiating, and burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Tuesday, from 7:30 to 11 AM, and from 12 Noon to 1 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Marks Church General Fund or to the Organ Fund.
