Southaven, MS – Elaine Davenport Holder, 91, formerly of Campbell Hill, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at The Pinnachle of Southaven, MS.

Elaine was born on December 10, 1933, in Strawn, IL, to Alphonse A. and Bessie E. (Gray) Oller. She married John Davenport on January 1, 1949, in Beaver Dam, KY. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1988. She then married Rev. Paul Holder on September 24, 1994, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2009. Elaine was a homemaker. She was a member of Desoto Hills Baptist Church in Southaven, MS, Order of Eastern Star, and the Gold Wing Road Riders, Illinois Chapter Q.

Elaine is survived by her children: Bob (Berneice) Davenport of Carbondale, IL, Linda Curry of Southaven, MS, Gilbert (Jamie) Davenport of Belleville, IL, Ruby Dunaway of Sesser, IL; her 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

Elaine was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lucille.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, 12:00 noon, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Rev. Jerod Pemper officiating. Burial to follow at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday morning, where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
