Edward E. Cochran, 81, of Percy, passed away at 12:24 pm, Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. Edward was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 20, 1932, the son of Evertt and Mable Tatum Cochran. He married Alberta Buddle on December 22, 1951 in Campbell Hill. She preceded him in death on August 5, 1991. He later married Nancy C. McCullough on May 7, 1994 in Birmingham, AL. Edward was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Spartan Printing, Sparta, IL. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1145 in Percy, IL and Kaskaskia VFW Post #3553 in Chester, IL. Edward is survived by his wife, Nancy C. Cochran of Percy; step children, William A. Byram of Winfield, MO and Nicole R. Amenn of Meridan, ID; one step grandchild, Ainsley Amenn; one sister-in-law, Pearline Cochran; two nephews, Robert (Bonnie) Schaber, Neal (Barb) Schaber; one niece, Trudy Cochran Brown. Edward was also preceded in death in by his parents and two brothers. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Debra Rathert, Lay Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 10 am. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
