PERCY - Edmund L. "Kayo" Willis, Jr., 90, of Percy, IL, passed away at 9:40 am, Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, IL. He was a retired businessman, and for years operated Willis Tradin' Post then Kayo's Superama in Percy. He was of the Protestant faith. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of the Percy American Legion Post 1145 and DAV in Murphysboro. He was born August 27, 1923 in Percy to Edmund Sr. and Catherine (Peretto) Willis. He married Dorothy (Grah) on June 14, 1947 at the home of Rev. Charles Leming in Cutler. She survives. He is also survived by two sons Jerry (Judy) Willis of Percy and Larry (LeeAnn) Willis of Ava; one granddaughter Shea (Brad) Haury of Sparta; two great grandsons Braden and Collin Haury; one sister Sue Patton of Percy; one sister-in-law Phyllis (Harold) Damron of Mt. Vernon and two brothers-in-law Jack (Sylvia) Grah of Tacoma, Washington and Bob Grah of East Carondelet. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-in-law Donald Patton and two sisters-in-law Wanda Bense and Melba Hetherington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Assembly of God Church in Percy with Pastor Stephen Duncan officiating. Pastor Ron Coleman of Grace Ministries in Chester will also have words of inspiration at the funeral. Burial will be in Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, where friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday with American Legion services at 7 pm and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am to 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Randolph County Care Center.
