MARYVILLE, Edith I. Cotton, 93, of Maryville, passed away at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Edith was born September 26, 1918 in Jacob, Illinois the daughter of Eddie and Minnie Marie (Browder) Edwards. She married Alvin Cotton on Sunday, October 06, 1940 in Perryville, MO. Edith was the retired owner of Edith's Beauty Shop. She was a former member of Missionary Baptist Church, Ava, IL. She is survived by her husband: Alvin Cotton, Maryville, IL; one son: Kenneth Melvin (Debbie) Cotton, Collinsville, IL; one daughter: Ruth Marie Fears, Collinsville, IL; daughter-in-law: Kathy Cotton, Anna, IL; 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Gene, 2 Brothers, 1 Sister and 1 Great Grandson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Wilson's Funeral Home Ava, Illinois with Rev. Bill N. Brown, officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, where friends may call from 11am till time of service. Memorials may be made to Missionary Baptist Church, Ava, IL
