STEELEVILLE, Edgar H. Westerman, 84, of Steeleville, passed away at 6:05 am, Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL. He was born October 8, 1926 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the son of George L Westerman and Bertha (Stegman) Westerman. Edgar married Wilma Brockmeyer on June 2, 1951 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wine Hill. He is survived by his wife Wilma Westerman of Steeleville, IL; one daughter: Judy and David Eaton of Steeleville, IL; one son: Dale and Diana Westerman of Ellis Grove, IL; four grandchildren: Jamie Pierce of Ava, IL, Sherri Buch of Steeleville, IL, Daysha Westerman of Ellis Grove, IL and Kacy Westerman of Ellis Grove, IL; four great grandchildren; one sister: Viola Rathert of Chester, IL. Edgar is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. Mr. Westerman served in the U.S. Air Force, during the World War II. He retired from American Device as a machinist. He was a member of the Lutheran Layman League, B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville, Shiloh Hill Community Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church at West Point, IL. Rev. Tim B. Zechiel will be officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, West Point. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville on Monday from 5 to 8 pm and then on Tuesday from 7:30 to 9am and then from 10 to 11am at the church. Memorials may be made to Christ Our Savior High School or Immanuel Lutheran Building Fund
