AVA – Earl C. Caton, 95, of Ava passed away at 4:56 AM, Friday, May 4, 2018, at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Earl was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 5, 1922, the son of Josiah Frank and Lona Mae (Bell) Caton, but he had gypsy feet. He always wanted to see what was over the next horizon. He has now conquered his last one, and has moved on to a reunion with all the loved ones who has been waiting for him. He married Mary Eldridge in 1950 in Oakland California, and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the Catholic Faith.
He is survived by his children; Earline Hiser, Barbara Leyerle, Julie Ann Crane, Mary Ann Caton, Sharon Arnold, Joe Caton, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl is also survived by 1 sister; Irene Groves.
Mr. Caton was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife; Mary, son; Tommy, 2 daughters; Louise Jordan, Diane Stein, 2 granddaughters; Amanda Crane, Dawn Cymone Reichle, 1 grandson; Harry C. Hiser III, sisters; Susann, Elizabeth, Rosemary, Bertha, and Theresa, and 1 brother; Walter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Mary Ann Caton officiating, burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Willisville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning at the funeral home where friends may call from 10 to 11 AM. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
