WILLISVILLE, Douglas Ray "Tiny" Gerlach, 46, of Willisville, passed away at 8:40 P.M. Thursday, January 29, 2009, at his home in Willisville, IL. Douglas was born August 04, 1962 in Murphysboro, Illinois the son of Lester Gerlach and Mary (Bigham) Gerlach. He was a construction laborer, a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, the Laborer's Union #459 of Belleville, American Legion Riders Post #396 of Sparta, Son of American Legion Post #480 of Steeleville. He was retired from the Willisville Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was also an avid Sportsman. He loved fishing, hunting and motorcycle riding. He is survived by his Parents, Lester & Mary Gerlach of Willisville, IL; sister, Brenda (Larry) Steiner of Sparta; niece, Andrea (Jeff) Stoppelmann of Arnold, MO; nephew, Ryan (Jennifer) Steiner of Belleville, IL; great niece and nephews, Jacob & Lucas Stoppelmann of Arnold, MO and Logan & Kaylee Steiner of Belleville, IL; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his favorite friend, his dog, Katie. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Lee Gerlach; and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Raymond Barclay officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Monday from 5 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
