STEELEVILLE - Dorthy M. Mueller, 87, of Steeleville, passed away at 11:46 pm, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her home in Steeleville. Dorthy was born in Steeleville, IL on November 27, 1926, the daughter of Walter and Linda Meislahn Uchtman. She married Walter C. Mueller on June 19, 1948 in Steeleville. Dorthy was a homemaker. She formerly worked at the International Shoe Factory in Steeleville and also at the Steeleville Grade School. Dorthy was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville; a former member of the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480 Auxiliary in Steeleville; and a former member of the Priscilla Club at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Dorthy is survived by her husband, Walter Mueller of Steeleville; her children, Linda Casten of Galatia, IL, Allen (Christie) Mueller of Abingdon, VA, and Steven (Jane) Mueller of Steeleville; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 11 am then from Noon until 1 pm at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran School Roof Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
