STEELEVILLE – Dorothy Marie Wilson, 97, of Steeleville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.

Dorothy was born on January 31, 1928, in Chester, IL to Albert and Marie (Heinks) Reimer. She married Melvin Wilson on June 14, 1947, at the Methodist Church, Chester, IL. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2013. Dorothy was a Homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, the WELCA, VFW Auxiliary Kaskaskia Post #3553, Chester, IL, and the Randolph County Farm Bureau.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Jerry (Judy) Wilson of Steeleville, IL, Joan (Dave) Dotson of Sparta, IL, Connie (Stan) Gaertner of Ellis Grove, IL; her grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson, Christina (Josh) Dunnigan, Steven (Brittney Crain) Dotson, Kelly (Dane) Walls, Molly (Curtis) Ebers; her great grandchildren: Caitlin Dunnigan, John Dunnigan, Khloe Dotson, Aubrey Armstrong, Hoyt Walls, Reese Ebers Gatlin Walls, Gracelynn Ebers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, 2:00 pm, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Ken Tegtmeier and Parish Ministry Assistant Julie Posth officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be Thursday evening, where friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, with the VFW Auxiliary Kaskaskia Post #3553 service at 7:00 pm, on Friday morning, 7:30 – noon, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, and then 1:00 – 2:00 pm, at the church.
