MURPHYSBORO – Dorothy J. Falkenbury, 80, of Murphysboro passed away at 4:40 PM, Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the DuQuoin Nursing and Rehab Center.

Dorothy was born on February 16, 1940, in Ava, the daughter of Turner and Florence (Holcomb) Qualls. She married Jess Allen Falkenbury on December 29, 1959, in Taylorville, Illinois and they shared 11 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 14, 1971. Dorothy was a homemaker.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Laura (Dee) Dumonceaux, of O'Fallon, Illinois, Edna Hall (Darryl Scott), of Elkville, Linda (John) Spradling, of Murphysboro, 8 grandchildren; Anthony (Ashley) Hall, Audra (Ron) Conley, Crystal Wyatt, Brandon (Victoria) Hall, Jess (Brittany) Spradling, Kelly (Aaron) Saggio, Kimberly Wyatt, and Jared Spradling, 17 great grandchildren, and she is also survived by a brother; Charles (Barbara) Qualls, of Joliet, Illinois.

Mrs. Falkenbury was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; James and Joe Qualls, sisters-in-law; Beulah, and Doris, and 1 sister.

Private graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Glenn Cemetery, Rockwood, with Rob Conley officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2 PM, at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to PKU Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes, or Cardinal Glennon Hospital. Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava is assisting the family with the arrangements.
