Obituary

CHESTER – Dorothy A. Eggemeyer, 87, of Chester, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.

Dorothy was born December 3, 1933 in Thebes, IL, to Loyd and Lola Gibbs Minton.  She married Raynold Eggemeyer on October 1, 1955 in Walsh, IL.  He preceded her in death on October 17, 2010.  Dorothy was a Business Manager for the Sparta School District for 35 years.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh, IL, Randolph County Homemakers Education Association, and the Red Hat Society.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Rudy (Julie) Eggemeyer of Chester, IL, and Cindy Eggemeyer of River Forest, IL, grandchildren; Lindsay (Jeremy) Mueller and Adam (Jessica) Eggemeyer, great grandchildren; Mallory and Cara Mueller and Owen Eggemeyer, special niece, LeeAnn Conyers of Batesville, AR.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and stepmother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh, IL with Minister Debra Rathert officiating.  Burial to follow at church cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL and from 10 to time of service on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church.  Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
