VERGENNES, Dorothy J Edwards, 67, of Vergennes, passed away at 11:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 06, 2010, at her home in Vergennes, IL. She was born September 28, 1942 in Alton, Illinois the daughter of Delmar Osborn and Juanita (Knight) Osborn. Dorothy married James Edwards on October 19, 1978 in Alton, IL. James passed away on May 13, 2010. Dorothy was an inspector from McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, MO and was retired. Dorothy was an avid mystery reader. Dorothy is survived by one son, James Ray Edwards of Madison, WI; three daughters, Kelly BC Vandersand of Belleville, IL, Gena (Phillip) Bramlett of Ava and Leslie Edwards of Vergennes, IL; six grandchildren, Casey Moran, Zachary, Shane and Devan Edwards and Tami and Christopher Sides; three brothers, Lloyd "Butch" Osborn of Granite City, IL, George Osborn of Mississippi and Bill Osborn of Alton, IL. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bobby Teller and one sister, Judy Roe. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Francis Bartley officiating. Burial will follow at Birkner Cemetery, Ava. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm. Memorials may be made to Birkner Cemetery.
