Obituary

AVA – Dorothy Lou David, 78, of Ava passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dorothy was born on June 5, 1941, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas the daughter of Robert B. and Effie H. (Smith) Huddleston. Dorothy worked as a pressman at the World Color Press, in Sparta. She married James David on March 13, 2011 at the Steeleville United Methodist Church, and she was a member of the Steeleville United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a good seamstress and enjoyed weaving pine needle baskets. She loved all kinds of crafts.

Dorothy is survived by her husband; James David, of Ava, daughter; LaShell (Paul) Riester, of Hallsville, Missouri, 4 grandchildren; Julian Riester, Ashlynne Reasons, William Riester, Wesley Riester, and 1 great grandchild; Chase Reasons. She is also survived by a sister; Patsy (Kenneth) Kertz, of Red Bud.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son; Perry Ebersohl, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with Rev. James Tinzmann officiating, burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home where friends may call from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Memorials may be made to the Steeleville United Methodist Church.
