AVA, Doris Mae Struck, 87, of Ava, passed away at 8:40 P.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro, IL. Doris was born May 20, 1922 in Jacob, Illinois the daughter of Fred Henry Austin and Mamie (Bilderback) Austin. She married Merle D. Struck on June 25, 1943 at Van Buren, MO, he preceded her in death on June 2, 1968. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill and the Ava Senior Citizens. Doris is survived by two sisters-in-law, Anna Jane Austin of Belle Fountain, OH and Doris Austin of St. Louis, MO; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved to visit with and laugh with. She was also preceded in death by her Parents, two daughters, Donna Kay Struck and Patricia Lynn Struck; one sister, Ruby Austin; and five brothers, Denver Austin, Fred Howell Austin, Alvin Wayne Austin, Forrest Austin, Gabriel Austin; and a longtime companion, Harold Rohlfing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Gregory J. Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Saturday from 9 to 11 am. Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice, Alzheimers Association or St. Peter Lutheran General Fund.
