AVA, Doris A.(Luthy) Wolfe, 81, of Ava, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, Illinois. She was born April 19, 1933 in Ava, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Samantha Jane (Taylor) Bower. Doris married Orval L. Luthy on December 28, 1963 in New Madrid, MO. He passed away on May 12, 1989. Doris later married James R. Wolfe on February 18, 1990 in Ava, IL. He passed away on June 18, 2002. Doris was a retired Cook for the Trico Grade School. She was a member of Ava Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter: Kimberly (Larry) Cross, Ava, IL; Grandchildren: Bradley Cross and Kendra Cross; Additional Children: Holly Wolfe, Murphysboro, IL and Rebecca (Ron) Cross, Sesser, IL; Additional Grandchildren: Erin Renee Casey, Jordon Rhyan Cross and Darrell James Duty; 2 Great Grandchildren: Kendall Owen Casey and Garhett Allen Casey. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 1 Son, Curtis Luthy and 1 Sister, Juanita June. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Home Ava, Illinois with Rev. Robert Boyett officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Visitation will be on Saturday at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8PM and on Sunday from 7:30am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Fresenius Medical Center of Carbondale.
