STEELEVILLE- Doris Jean (Todaro) Dressler, 90, of Steeleville passed away on April 25, 2026, at the Coulterville Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Doris was born in Willisville, IL to Charles Todaro and Estella (Rubach) Todaro. Leatha (Todaro) Gwin was her sister.
Doris was a 1953 Trico High School graduate. She had so many great memories and stories growing up in the Trico area. In April of 1954, she married Waldimar Dressler who was a vicar at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, he preceded her in death January 13, 2015. They spent their first years of marriage in Saskatchewan, Canada (Waldemar’s birthplace and location of his first parish). Doris was a partner in ministry as they served congregations in the East Chicago, IN, Evanston, IN, and Hamil IL. Doris touched many lives with her card ministry and her beautiful voice. She was a member of St, Mark’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL. They were blessed with three children; Warren Dressler (deceased), and surviving daughters Linda (Tom) Englert of Evansville, IN and Karen (Mike) Argeanas of Moriarty, NM, and daughter-in-law Sue Dressler of Greenwood, IN. She is also survived by grandchildren Johnny (Brian) Weddle of Eagle, CO, Sydney (Jenna) Dressler of Indianapolis, IN, Tristan Eglert (currently presiding in Hyderabad, India) Zeke Argeanas of Moriarty, NM, and Michael (Amanda) Ardizzone of Martinsville, IN. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Ethan, Aiden, and Daylon.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son Warren Dressler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 am, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Harriss and Rev. Dr. Wally Becker officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be on Friday morning, where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Hour or Worshipanew and can be mailed to Wilson’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
