Obituary

Donna Mae Weiser, 80, of Walsh, passed away December 21, 2024, at St. Luke's Medical Hospital in Chesterfield Missouri, surrounded by loved ones.

She was given life by her creator and was born February 26, 1944, in Walsh, the daughter of Everett D. And Frieda (Beckman) Rickenberg, who preceded her in death.

She was given the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God, later publicly confessing her faith through confirmation and received the precious gift of the Lords life-giving body and blood as a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh.

On January 3, 1963, she received the gift of her beloved husband, Donald Lawrence Weiser who preceded her in death on December 27, 2015.

Donna and Don were blessed with the gift of 4 children. Sandra Dee (Greg) Haertling, of Perryville, Pamela Kay Kessel, deceased, Tamara Sue Weiser, of Walsh, and Donald Douglas Weiser.  9 grandchildren, Michael (Kathrin) Birchler, Brian (Lindsey) Birchler, Jessica (Adam) Naeger, Emma (Derick) Manche, Casandra Liefer, Kayla Weiser, Derek Weiser, Caiti Weiser, Sara Beth Weiser. 6 Great-Grandchildren, Alina Birchler, Liam Birchler, Ellie Birchler, Bear Birchler, Lane Naeger, and Leo Naeger.

She was blessed with 5 sisters, Alice Gamble, Marlene Edwards who survive and Evangeline Wahlman, Velma Fraembs, and Mildred Wilbert, who preceded her in death; 7 brothers, Walter Rickenberg, Homer Rickenberg, Harvey Rickenberg, Melvin Rickenberg, Wilbert Rickenberg, Everett Rickenberg, and Ralph Rickenberg who preceded her in death.

Donna was also blessed with 1 Brother- in-law Kenneth (Kathy) Scaglione and one sister-in-law Betty (Jerry)Scaggs; along with many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Donna was a graduate of the Sparta High School and was a stay-at-home mom. She achieved her Associate Degree in Accounting from SWIC after raising her children. She worked for Capital in Sparta, Western Egyptian, and SIPCO. She and Don raised Charolais Beef cattle in retirement.

She and Don enjoyed traveling - sometimes with the kids. They took in many sights, scenes and escapades across the country.  Donna was spotlighted center stage singing at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, hugged by Ernest Tubb and rubbed elbows with the Gaither's.

Donna was truly a warm, kind and generous person. Her wit, critical thinking skills, charm, humor and unconditional love will forever be missed and remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation for Donna will be Friday, December 27, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville from 9-11 am, services immediately following at the funeral home, with Pastor Matthew Marks of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Perryville officiating.  Interment will be at Paradise Cemetery immediately following services.  Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh or the Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aid in Perryville. Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, is in charge of the arrangements.
