STEELEVILLE - Donald W. McCaw, 96, of Steeleville, passed away at 5:05 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL. Donald was born in Claremont, IL, on July 23, 1916, the son of William Henry and Mary Mabel Shafer McCaw. He married Rosalie H. Fiene on March 8, 1941 in Steeleville. He was a retired Superintendent from Streamline Mine in Percy. Donald was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. Donald is survived by his wife, Rosalie H. McCaw of Steeleville; one daughter, Mary McCelland and husband, William Obert of Poway, CA; two grandchildren, Charles McCelland of Menifee, CA and Katie McCelland of San Diego, CA; one step grandson, Brad Davis of Littleton, CO; one step great grandson, Liam Davis of Littleton, CO; two sisters, Mildred Clifford of St. Louis, MO and Marilyn Smith of Claremont, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his Parents and one son, Donald W. "Bill" McCaw, Jr. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:00 am, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill with Rev. Alan Kornacki officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 to 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church General Fund.
