AVA, Donald Lee Jordan, 77, died at home and surrounded by family on Saturday, November 14, 2015. He was born September 15, 1938 in Thebes, Illinois the son of Vernard (Mickey) and Pearl (Houseman) Jordan. Don married Belle Ann Donnell on October 28, 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi. After serving in the U. S. Air Force for over twenty years, he and Belle settled in Ava in 1975, where he pursued a second career at AMAX Coal. Don was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He and Belle especially enjoyed hunting mushrooms in the hills of Southern Illinois. Along with his wife of over 61 years, he is survived by three sons, Pete (Madeleine), Jerry (Nancy) and Monte (Missy), three grandsons and three granddaughters, five great grandsons and brothers, Terry and Greg and sister, Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bruce and two infant grandchildren. There will be no memorial service. Cremation was his wishes and interment is planned for a later date
