SPARTA, Donald W. Hester, 80, of Walsh, passed away at 12:54 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2010, at his son's home. Donald was born December 18, 1929 in Ava, Illinois the son of Theodore Hester and Clare (Kiehn) Hester. He married Judy Kay Benson on January 10, 1969 at Murphysboro, Illinois. She passed away on January 15, 2000. He is survived by his two sons; Allen Ray Hester of Sparta and Bryan Keith Hester of Florence, AL; daughter: Margaret Ann Dyke of Sparta; three grandchildren; sister: Dorothy Pfifer of Niles, Michigan. Mr. Hester served in the U.S. Army during Korean Conflict and later retired from Bindery at Sparta Printing, Sparta, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Donald Hester, one sister, and one brother. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Rev. Francis Bartley will be officiating. Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 am until the hour of service at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, Illinois.
