AVA – Donald E. Hamilton, 63, of Ava, IL, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Donald was born August 23, 1959, in Chester, IL, a son to Archie C. and Eileen E. (Heins) Hamilton. He married Julie Ann Basse on July 9, 1995, at Jonesboro, IL. Donald was owner of Hamilton Angus Farms and was previously Degognia Township Road Commissioner. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Jacob, Egyptian Telephone Board, American Angus Association, and the Mississippi Valley Gun Club. Donald was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Donald is survived by wife Julie Hamilton of Ava, children: Kelly (Jeremy) Wilson of Chester, Kayla Hamilton of Ava; brother, Glenn (Meindy) Hamilton of Sesser, sisters-in-law: Carol Hamilton of Steeleville, Christy Basse of Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Jeff Basse of Jonesboro, niece, Kimberly (Travis) Graff of Ava, nephews: Douglas (Keri) Hamilton of Rockwood and their children, Brantley and Kenzie, Dusty (Shea) Hamilton of Harrisburg and their children, Harper and Archer.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Kenneth Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held 12 - 2 pm, Friday, October 14, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Gym, 146 West Jacob Road, Jacob, IL.
