AVA – Donald V. Ethington, 56, of Ava, IL, passed away at 1:35 pm, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at home in Ava, Illinois.
Donald was born in Granite City, IL on September 4, 1959, the son of Calvin and Carol Hale Ethington. He was Laborer and a former member of the Ava Volunteer Fire Department and he is a member of Ava Outlaw Saddle Club. Donald enjoyed Nascar, Horseback riding, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He loved being with family and friends at the camp ground.
Donald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Sami) Tudor of Mulberry Grove, IL; parents, Calvin and Carol Ethington of Ava, IL; sister-in-law, Sandy Ethington of St. Charles, MO; nephews, Chris (Kayla), Ben (Cyndi) and Jr. (Ashley); one niece, Teresa (Mike); many great nieces and great nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and close friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale and Rich Ethington; grandparents, Calvin & Alberta Ethington and Allen & Ruby Hale; and one nephew, Brian Ethington.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Robert Boyett officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association or the Ava Missionary Baptist Church.
