WILLISVILLE - Dixie D. Brown, 68, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ at 11:54 am, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Dixie was born on July 2, 1945, in Willisville, Illinois, the daughter of Dan and Dorothy Jaimet. Dixie married her soul mate, Gene Brown on March 19, 1966 in Willisville. Dixie was a school teacher for 36 years, and along with her husband, Gene, founded Faith Christian School n Chester; formerly in Willisville. She was a charter member of the Tri-County Baptist Church in Willisville (1969). Dixie is survived by her husband Gene Brown of Willisville; two sons, Douglas (Batrah) Brown of Willisville and Jonathan (Jenny) Brown of Willisville; seven grandchildren, Caleb Jennings, Cody Crouse, and Joshua, Josiah, Titus, Trinity and Adonai Brown; her brother, Danny (Barbara) Jaimet of Willisville; brother-in-law, Rev. Bill (Thelma) Brown of Willisville; sister-in-law, Gail Brown of Steeleville; an aunt and uncle, Steve and Audrey Stevenson of Steeleville; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by her cousin, Betty Throop of Percy; and dear friend, Juanita Smith of Willisville, both ladies were liked sisters to Dixie. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Tim McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 9 am until 11 am Friday. Memorials may be given to Faith Christian School.
