AVA – Dennis Benson, 66, of Ava, passed away at 1:48 pm, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home.

Dennis was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, on June 28, 1951, the son of William Charles and Helen Edaine McCoy Benson. He was a retired Printing Pressman from Curwood in Murphysboro. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Murphysboro.

Dennis is survived by his brothers, Charles (Betty) Benson of Murphysboro and Rodney Benson of Ava; and sister, Charlotte Lakenan-Curry of Ava.

Dennis was preceded in death by his Parents; and two sisters, Ruth Moutria and Judy Hester.

M emorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Burial will be at a later date at Murdale Garden of Memory. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9 am until 11 am. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Hospital .
