STEELEVILLE – Delmar L. Knop, 83, of Steeleville, passes away, Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, Illinois.

Delmar was born September 12, 1937 in Percy, IL, to Paul G. and Ester (Schnepel) Knop. He married Sharon Klosterhoff on November 17, 1962 in Steeleville, IL.  She preceded him in death on October 24, 1999.  Delmar was a farmer.  He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Boniface Church, Evansville, IL and BBK American Legion Post #480, Steelville, IL.

Delmar is survived by his daughters; Christine (Glenn) Haake of Chesterfield, MO, and Cynthia (Doug) Metcalf of Salt Lake City, UT, grandchildren; Devin Metcalf, Jill Moneau, and Susan Hoake, brother, James (Marilyn) Knop of Percy, IL, sister, Doris (Harry) Rahlfs of Steeleville, IL and sister-in-law, Nancy Knop of Sparta, IL.

Delmar was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Paul D. Knop.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL with Father Iuvdnis Iheme officiating.  Burial to follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Family and friends may call 11 – 1pm at Wilson's Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to Donor's choice and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
