AVA – Delbert D. Froemling, 78, of Ava, passed away at 1:43 am, Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Delbert was born in Ava, Illinois, on November 6, 1940, the son of the late Herman and Laura Castens Froemling.  He married Barbara Gerberding on June 2, 1962 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak.  He was a former Partner of Froemling Trucking, Employed at Captain Mine, Custodian at Trico Elementary and a Farmer.  Delbert was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, I.M.R.F. and U.M.W. of A Local #1392.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Barbara Froemling of Ava; two sons, Bryan (Leigh Ann) Froemling of Campbell Hill and Tim (Jennifer) Froemling of Auburn, KY; one daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Edwards of Murphysboro; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; three brothers, Arvel (Barbara) Froemling of Campbell Hill, Homer (Faye) Froemling of Ava, and Leonard (Connie) Froemling of Ava; one sister, Ruth Petrowski of Campbell Hill; one brother-in-law, Ronald (Ann) Gerberding of Lampe, MO.

Delbert was preceded in death by his Parents; daughter, Connie Eaton; and mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 31, 2019, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, with Minister Deb Rathert officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 9 am, then from 10 am until 11 am at the church.  Memorials may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
