STEELEVILLE – David Eugene Zimmer, 55, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

David was born on November 12, 1968, in Chester, IL, the son of Roger P. and Elizabeth Sue (Davis) Zimmer. David was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, and the Steeleville Boy Scout's Troop.

David is survived by his children: Paul (Rebecca) Zimmer of Sparta, IL, Nicholas Zimmer of Chester, IL, Samantha Zimmer of Perryville, MO, Shayne Zimmer of Steeleville, IL, Jordan Zimmer of Steeleville, IL; his grandchildren: Theodore, Penelope, Katrina, and Winifred; his siblings: Roger (Anna) Zimmer of Steeleville, IL, Patricia (Michael) Curtner of Steeleville, IL, Richard (Mary) Zimmer of Chester, IL, Jennifer (Mark) Casper of Steeleville, IL, Helen (Shane) Quandt of Steeleville, IL, Amy Middendorf of Murphysboro, IL, and Aaron (Melissa) Middendorf of Steeleville, IL.

David was preceded in death by his Parents and Stepfather, Robert H. Middendorf and Stepmother, Pamela Zimmer.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Harriss officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home Steelville, IL, where friends may call from 6 – 8 pm, Wednesday, and on Thursday, 7:30 am until the hour of service.
