PERCY - David W. Young, 65, of Percy, passed away at 7:31 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Marion. David was born in Randolph County, Illinois on September 29, 1946, the son of Joseph and Pauline Bert Young. He married Narda J. Hornbostel on July 1, 1995 in Percy, IL. He was a laborer. David was a veteran of the US Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill; Kaskaskia VFW Post #3553 in Chester; Percy American Legion Post # 1145, Percy, IL; and U.M.W. of A Local #7333. David is survived by his wife, Narda J. Young of Percy; children, Jeff (Jana) Young of Steeleville, Jason (Karen) Young of Percy, and Matthew (Amy) Young of Steeleville; step son, Gary (Christa) Poenitske of Steeleville; grandchildren, Colton, Mason, Christopher, Shandi, Garrett and Brandon; three great grandchildren, Gage, Emma and Nevaeh; and one sister, Donna (Max) Tinsmen of Chester, IL. David was preceded in death by his Parents. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 am the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill with Rev. Alan Kornacki officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday from 10 to 11 am. Funeral is under auspices of Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville. Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church General Fund.
