Obituary

David Harold Roedersheimer Jr., 60 years old, was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, but spent most of his life in Rockport,Texas.

A hardworking man with a humble soul, David built his life with his hands and his heart
- from the open road as a truck driver to crafting wood as a skilled carpenter.
He also spent many years shrimping and loved being out on the water, where he found
peace and freedom in the salty air and the steady rhythm of the sea.
He loved praising the Lord, spending time at the beach, and grilling up some good food
for the people he cared about. No matter what situation life put in front of him, David
was always in good spirits — smiling, joking, and keeping everyone around him lifted up.
Wherever he went, he carried a cross with him, a quiet reminder of his faith and the
strength he found in God.

David was a man of strong faith and attended Grace Mission Church in Elkville, Illinois,
where he found peace, fellowship, and a deeper connection with the Lord.
David was also known for his humor and his big personality — never the shy one,
always making people laugh and lighting up any room he walked into. If you were around
David, you knew he was there, and you probably left with a smile.
His motto in life was simple but true to his heart: "Hammer Down." He lived those words
every day, pushing forward through every road, every storm, and every challenge that
came his way.

David lived by the verse Philippians 4:13 — "I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me." That faith carried him through life's toughest moments and gave him
the peace he now rests in.

He will be remembered for his faith, his laughter, his kindness, and his steady spirit that
never quit.

Rest easy, Dad — 'till we meet again.
