PINCKNEYVILLE - David G. Moritz, 41, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Thursday September 27, 2012 at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. David was born in Pinckneyville, IL on December 12, 1970, the son of Richard E. and Georgia G. Wolfe Moritz. David was a truck driver for Gilster Mary Lee Corporation, Steeleville, IL. He was a member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville; Mitchell Masonic Lodge #85 in Pinckneyville; Ainad Shrine, East St. Louis, IL; a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited; and on the committee of the Tim Bell Chapter of Ducks Unlimited of DuQuoin, IL. David was also an avid Nascar fan. David is survived by his son, Lawson Moritz of Ipava, IL; maternal grandmother, Mildred Wolfe of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Mindy (Dave) Heins of Rockwood, and Bev (Homer) Bates of Ava; two nephews, Ben Bates and Chase Heins; and two nieces, Emily Bates and Hayleigh Heins. David was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandfather; and paternal grandparents. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 10:30 am at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville with Rev. Cindy Bean officiating. Burial will follow in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville. Visitation will be at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville on Monday from 5 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava. Memorials may be given to the Moritz Family.
