SPARTA – David E. Meyerhoff, 91, of Sparta, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL.

David was born April 10, 1930, in Percy, IL, to George and Dora G. Roberts Meyerhoff. He married Betty J. McMurtry, May 17, 1957, at Jordan Grove Church, Sparta, IL, she preceded him in death on April 23, 2019. David was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church, Sparta, IL, VFW Post #2698, Sparta, IL, and United Mine Workers of America.

David is survived by his son, Dr. Mark (Diane) Meyerhoff, DC of Sparta, IL, grandchildren: Justin (Jordan) Meyerhoff of Sparta, IL, Megan Meyerhoff of Sparta, IL; and close friend, Esther Craig of Sparta, IL.

David is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church, Sparta, IL, with Rev. Alex Eppstein officiating. Burial to follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, where friends may call from 6 - 8 pm, Wednesday, and 9 – 11, Thursday, at the church.
