AVA, David W. Gonzales, 28, of Ava, passed away at 11:56 PM Saturday, September 13, 2014, in Pinckneyville, Illinois. He was born February 14, 1986 in Carbondale, Illinois the son of John D. and Kellie (Cross) Gonzales, Sr. David was a Laborer. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Ava. He is survived by his mother: Kellie S. Gonzales, Ava, IL; father: John D. Gonzales, Sr., Texas; brother: John Logan Gonzales, Ava, IL; Grandmothers: Vera Cross, Ava, IL and Sofia Mendoza, Texas; daughter: Alexis Knapp, Ava, IL; Girlfriend: Cherish Knapp, Ava, IL; Aunts: Sheila (Bill) Dammerman, Percy, IL, Debbie (Mike) Wittrock , Barbara Salazar, Henrietta (Mike) Semik, Guadalupe (Ramon) Rios, Uncles: Jim (Kristin) Cross, Percy, IL; Eric (Heidi) Cross, Michigan; Henry Gonzales, Frank Gonzales and Abel Gonzales and Cousins: Kevin Padgett, Brian King, Stephen Cross, Ryan Cross, Erica Cross, Jimmy Cross, Heather Cross, Brooke Davis and Marcus Davis. David is preceded in death by his Brother, John David Gonzales, Jr.; Maternal Grandfather, James Cross and Paternal Grandfather, Henry P. Gonzales. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Ava Evergreen Cemetery Ava, Illinois with Pastor J. R. Skurat, officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
