STEELEVILLE – Daryle Gene Rodewald, 74, of Steeleville, passed away at 10:20 pm, Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Daryle was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, on December 3, 1946, the son of Omer Henry and Ruth K. Meyerhoff Rodewald. Daryle married Judy Kay Siemers on April 9, 1972 in Steeleville, Illinois. Daryle was a retiree of Captain Mine where he was a member of the Local 1392 for 48 years and he was a retiree of Illinois Department of Transporation. He was a Veteran of the 173 rd Airborne with service in the Vietnam Conflict. Daryle was drafted on October 23, 1967 and was discharged on October 16, 1969. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville; B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville; Steeleville Eagles Aerie #3960; and Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester.
Daryle is survived by his wife, Judy Rodewald of Steeleville; daughters, Tonia (Dan) Harriss of Steeleville and Teresa (Dan) Adcock of Pinckneyville; son, Aaron Rodewald of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Hayden Harriss, Reid Harriss, Nile Adcock, Ava Adcock and Owen Adcock; mother, Ruth Rodewald of Ava; sisters, Judy (Glen) Dierks of Sparta and Jane (Steve) Mueller of Steeleville; brother, Gyle Rodewald of Ava; and several nieces and nephews.
Daryle was preceded in death by his Father.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 11:00 am, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Rev. Matt Helfrich officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm on Monday, and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 9 am, then from 10 am until 11 am at the church.
