MURPHYSBORO– Darrel Wayne Derosett, 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois.

Darrel was born on September 1, 1946, in Murphysboro, IL, the son of Harrel and Mary (Lively) Derosett. He married Linda Lou McRoy on October 22, 1966, in Murphysboro, IL. Darrel was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict as a Medic and CB Operator. He had retired from Prairie Farms. Darrel was a member of Paul Stout American Legion Post #127, Murphysboro, IL.

Darrel is survived by his wife, Linda Derosett of Murphysboro, IL, his children: Tammy (Al) Cook of Olive Branch, IL, Brian (Christy) Derosett of Ava, IL; his grandchildren: Brad Green, Paige Green, Hobie Derosett, Luke Derosett; his great grandchildren: Dawson Bowen, Kadin Bowen, Emma Green; his siblings: Joyce Howell of Murphysboro, IL, Paula Schemonia of Murphysboro, IL; his nephews, Drew Derosett, Micah Provoe, Tracy Howell and his niece, Angie Kharian.

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: David Derosett, Rocky Miller and Mike Griffin.

Funeral services will be on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Rev. Bob Spangler officiating. Burial to follow at Murdale Garden of Memory, Murphysboro, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 – 1:00 pm.
