MURPHYSBORO – Curtis M. Compton, 28, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020, at his residence in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Curtis was born on March 12, 1992, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of Michael and Kimberly Ann Harmon Compton.  He was a delivery person at Martel's Pizza and was previously a teacher's aide at Murphysboro Junior High School. Curtis started the Sport's Fanatics page on Facebook and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Rams and Blues fan.

Curtis is survived by his parents, Kimberly (Jim Underwood) Compton of Festus, MO, and Mike (Betty) Compton of Murphysboro, IL.  Grandparents; Susie Hedrick of Festus, MO, Troy and Mary Compton of Murphysboro, IL and Alice Smith of Cutler, IL.  Brothers; Lucas Underwood, Ziggy Underwood and Trevor Smith.  Sisters; Zoe Underwood and Tonya (Nick) Rhodes.   Three nephews and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Curtis was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfathers, Mike Hedrick and Kenny Harmon.  Great Grandparents, George (Fern) Litton.  Uncle, Howard Hedrick.  Grandfather, Melvin Smith and Cousin Trevor Compton.

Graveside service will be held at 11 am, Friday, October 9, 2020, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, with Pastor Cecil Compton officiating.  Burial will follow.  Visitation will be held at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, from 10 am to 11 am Friday.  Memorials may be given to the family.  To sign the guestbook visit www.wilsonsfuneralhome.net.  By executive order, face masks are required and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
