MURPHYSBORO – Connie L. Smith, 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, Illinois.

Connie was born on January 6, 1968, in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Melvin and Frieda (Ellis) Smith.  She worked as a restaurant cook.

Connie is survived by her children: Cory Smith of Carbondale, IL, Cortney (Patrick) Bastien of Murphysboro, IL, Heather Smith of Murphysboro, IL; her grandchildren: Chloe, Corabell, Emilie, Jayden, Hayden, Meghan, and Charleigh; her siblings: Danny Smith of Carbondale, IL, Melvin Scott Smith of Ava, IL, Marsha Holt of Carterville, IL, Teresa Rogers of Murphysboro, IL, Danny Smith Jr. of Marion, IL, and Michael Smith of Murphysboro, IL.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Kylee and friend, Jr. Ripley.

Graveside services will be on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 9:30 am, at Smith Family Cemetery, Kimmel Bridge Rd, Murphysboro, IL, with Pastor Steve Ragland officiating. Memorials may be given to the family for Funeral Expenses, and can mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
