WILLISVILLE – Clifford E. Henson, 77, of Willisville passed away at 2:39 PM, Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Sparta Community Hospital.
Clifford was born on November 12, 1940, in Willisville, the son of Phillip R. Henson and Vera Van Ausdoll. He married Blanche E. Eubanks, on September 10, 1960, in Willisville and they shared 56 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on July 24, 2017. Mr. Henson was retired from the Menard Penitentiary in Chester, and retied security officer for the Peabody Coal Mine. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Willisville, Alma Lodge No. 497 A.F. and A.M., in Steeleville, Illinois Policeman Association, and a former member of the Willisville Volunteer Fire Department.
Clifford is survived by his children; Carol Evans, of Willisville, and Ronald Henson, of LeVern, Arizona, 2 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. His is also survived by 3 brother; Jay McCormick, of Campbell Hill, Gary Henson, of Steeleville, Richard Henson, of Percy, and 1 sister; Deanna Henson, of Willisville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 1 brother – in – law.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with Rev. Willis Durbin officiating, and burial will follow at the Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be held on Friday morning where friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
