STEELEVILLE, Clayborne Lee "Steve" Stevenson, 88, of Steeleville, passed away at 10:52 AM Monday, December 29, 2014, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, Illinois. He was born September 27, 1926 in Hartford, Kansas the son of Walter S. and Libbie (Smiley) Stevenson. Steve married Audrey Lee Vorderbrugge on May 20, 1950 in Cutler, IL. They moved to St. Louis, MO in 1955 and then to Steeleville in 2006. Steve was a retired Barber in St. Louis, MO. He also served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Steve is survived by his wife, Audrey L. Stevenson of Steeleville, IL. Steve was her beloved Husband and her best friend. He is also survived by 6 Nieces and Nephews: Bill (Joyce) Rednour, Atkinson, IL; Helen (Ed) Larson, Rio, IL; Buck (Sharon) Rednour, Williamsfield, IL; Wayne (Charlene) Rednour, Rio, IL; Carol (Jim) Boyer, Rio, IL and Pat (Jerry) Steck, Rio, IL; Several Great & Great Great Nieces and Nephews and Dearest Friends: Angela & Brandyn Routt, Sr., High Ridge, MO; Brandyn & Danielle Routt, Jr., New York, NY; Jacob & Kallie Routt, High Ridge, MO and Pat Mueller, St. Louis, MO. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, James Stevenson, 1 sister, Marie Rednour, 1 nephew, Shelby R. Rednour and 1 niece, Betty Davis. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, Illinois with Rev. Bill N. Brown and Rev. Curt Rabe officiating. Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home on Friday where friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
