CHESTER – Clarence Ruroede, 88, of Chester passed away at 12:40 AM, Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Three Springs Lodge in Chester.

Clarence was born on June 2, 1930, in Bremen, the son of Martin and Dora (Hartmann) Ruroede. He married Florence R. Welge, on December 27, 1952 in Chester and they shared 60 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on January 17, 2013. Clarence was an U.S. Army Veteran, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, the BBK American Legion Post #480, Randolph County Farm Bureau.  He also helped Bockhorn Auction Service for 30 years.

Clarence is survived by his children; Brenda Ruroede, of Chester, Donna (Steve) Schnoeker, of Evansville, IL; three grandchildren, Angela (Tyler) Masterson, Rob Delre (Jessica Lowry) and Marcus Delre (Lisa Boitano); four step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, Charolette, Raven, Mia, Rayce, Arya, Zoey and Jaxon; ten step great grandchildren; Sisters: Mildred Kingsten of Sparta and Dorothy Seeman of Steeleville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clarence was also preceded in death by his Parents; two brothers; and one step great granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 1, 2019, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, with Rev. William F. Engfehr, III officiating.  Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until 11 am then from Noon until 1 pm at the church.  Memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
